Potomac Woods Dive Team Welcomes Mory Gould as New Dive Team Coach

Moury Gould returns this summer to Potomac Woods, where he began his diving career at age 8, as the new coach for the PW Dive Team.

Moury recently graduated from Indiana University with a degree in biology. He has been diving competitively for eight years, and credits his great coaches in helping him reach his dreams and goals. Some of Moury’s accomplishments include 2017 1 meter age group national champion, NCAA all-American, finalist at numerous senior national championships, as well as B1G 10 silver medalist, and competing at the 2022 Olympic trials.

While at Indiana, Moury was coached by the three-time Olympic coach Drew Johnsen, who taught him the skills to be a successful diver as well as how to coach and foster a good training environment. Moury is excited to now bring those skills back with him to PW.

Moury loved the PW Dive Team and the competitiveness of each meet when he joined the team as an 8-year-old.

“I looked up to the older club divers on the team and wanted nothing more than to be like them. I look back at my time diving for Potomac Woods as some of my fondest memories of diving and the reason I feel in love with the sport,” he said.
